Julia has 15 years of experience working with hair, with more than 11 years at Hair People. She has worked hard to provide excellent women’s and men’s cuts and color and continues to improve her skills. In 2008 she was introduced to DevaCurl and her life was forever changed. Since then she has received many certifications through DevaCurl as well as various advanced education training through Toni & Guy, Wella, Redken and Vidal Sassoon. She uses all of her education and experience to provide hairstyles that are realistic, comfortable and easy to work with and loves to work with people to teach them how to embrace and utilize their natural hair texture.
Since attaining a degree in Anthropology in 2018, the impact of what a haircut can do for a person became profoundly evident to Julia. She is working to share her talents as a hairstylist to give the feeling of dignity, comfort and (self) acceptance through haircuts to individuals that may have a mental health diagnosis, special needs, homeless, and those who feel isolated or introverted. She is a huge believer in the affect a haircut can have on someone’s self-esteem and that it is a significant form of self-expression that is lost to many for various reasons besides the monetary cost
Advanced Training with Toni & Guy, Wella, Men's Dept., and of course Deva Curl Advanced
